Handicap Lifts
How do model trains work?
I'm working on designing a lift system for elderly or handicapped people, and I'd like to use the same concepts as the train to help move the patient. Any help would be great.
Motor is in the first car, the two rails are the + - voltage source.

Is there anything that can be used device, etc to help her pick him up when he is having a bad day amd can't cooperate with the lifting?

It is very helpful and will save her back. You can get one at any medical supply store or perhaps a pharmacy. If he is really heavy or unable to bear weight at all, she could resort to a mechanical lift. I know what she's going through and it can be tough. Make sure she knows her physical limits.
