Handicap Accessibility Wheelchair Accessible
New Years Eve in Sydney - with wheelchair/disabled accessibility. Not necessarily in the CBD. Ideas?
I know it's getting a bit late and I've been wracking my brain to find somewhere with a friendly, celebratory atmosphere that's accessible in powered wheelchairs. Public transport is not being considered but parking (handicapped or not) is a requirement.
A view of the fireworks (even from any distance) would be great.
Info about handicap toilets would be great too but with place suggestions I can always make my own inquiries in that regard.
The southern side of Sydney would be my preference but would certainly consider all options.
A restaurant would be really good but I fear they are either booked solid or prohibitively expensive. Any clubs like RSL's etc will be considered, but no overly loud dance clubs - party music is of course encouraged.
Indoors or outdoors, free or reasonably priced, it just should be fun (& obviously continue at least until after midnight!)
Looking forward to suggestions, may well be informative to others as well.
rack your brains no more... ring the sydney tourist information centre or some travel agents too, theyre around everywhere and ask them what you asked here, theyll know foresure.
just dont make it sound like a sob story and youll be guided in the right direction once more.

Where can you relocate in Virginia with wheelchair accessibility (including a caretaker)?
We are despirately trying to relocate our parents and their caretaker to a wheelchair accessible apartment (2 bedroom) in southwestern Virginia. But, we are finding it impossible to find any vacancy.
What are we supposed to do??? Everywhere we call we are getting either over qualified (based on income) or age restrictions. Isn't there any resources for relocating someone who has become wheelchair dependent? Don't apartments have to have so many handicap accessible units? Please help!!!
Yes, but the waiting lists for them is usually years long. On average most people have to wait 3-8 years for accessible vacancies as most are government subsidized.
Get on as many lists as you can. Find out who passes out HUD vouchers and get on their email lists that will notifiy you when the lists open.
This is one of the reasons people with disabilities rarely move - once they find an accessible place they live they stay put.
