Handicap Access Wheelchair Ramps
Handicapped appartments?
My mother had a ruptured disk which landed on her spinal cord and resulted in spinal cord damage...she is now an incomplete quadraplagic. If she were to come back home to our house we would have to make a ramp and change basically everything so she could navigate in her wheelchair. We're looking for 2-3 bedroom appartments that have been modified to handel a person in a wheelchair. Including a ramp, or elevator access to the appartment, lowered kitchen area so she can reach appliances, changed bathroom so she can use everything...stuff like that. I live in NC and am not sure how far my parents wish to move, but even in another state anything would be helpful. thank you.
Well Im a leasing agent and I know that not many apts. are speciffically made for wheelchairs but there are some. I used to work in Warner Robins Ga. and there are actually a couple of very nice apt complexes that have units with lowered counters and ramps and handicapped bathrooms and bathtubs, you just really have to do your homework and call around until you find one. They are few and far between but they are out there and Im sure you will find a beautiful one that you all love. Good Luck
