Great Shape Is buying a used lens in great shape better than buying a new one?
I heard lenses get better with age assuming it's been kept in good condition and may inflate (with a risk of deflation). I'm searching BH Photo and I trust them a lot and they rate the used lenses they sell, too. I'm looking at a 9 condition lens, which would be in great condition. It is $500.00 off a new one. What's the best option?
I would prefer to get a lens in my hands and on my camera before making a decision on a used model. Make sure B&H will take the lens back if you determine it will not meet your needs.
I do agree that new is the best way to go, but I also understand that used may make a lens that would otherwise be too expensive, obtainable.
I personally have no problem with used lenses, I have several. But, I got to test them before purchase.
