How can I talk him out of those small yippy things?
OK I KNOW that some people LOVE little toys and terriers ETC ETC. I do not!!! I know I'm going to get so much yelling and my breed is the best stuff but I'll just ignore it!
My fiance wants a dog, but we cannot agree on the dog. He wants little tiny yippy type dogs like terriers and chihuahuas and myself, I've grown up my whole life with shelties and golden retrievers.
Now he bases this decision by photos alone! He has never had a dog, no experience with dogs and never really been around any dogs. Personally I've been around animals my whole life and as a vet tech for 3 years, I really don't like small little breeds that bark and bite a lot.
Any ideas on how to show him what these breeds are really like and show him how bigger breeds aren't that bad?

I agree with you. I personally don't like the yippy breeds either. Each to their own! Explain to him that this is a responsibility that you will both share and it will be a part of your lives everyday for many many years, so this is definitely a decision you should both make together or it will cause problems in the relationship. Tell him to list the top 5 dogs he is interested in, you do the same and see if there are any that are the same! If not, list your top ten and so on til you have one or more of the same dogs on your lists. Or you may find that one of you lists a dog you hadn't thought about. Research those dogs and go from there. Or go to your local shelter and see all the dogs there that need homes..he may fall in love with a sweet dog that's not small and yippy!

Will he be alright after being hit by a car?
I was going down a busy street and saw a golden retriever struck by a car. After I finished yelling random profanities, I herded him into my truck and took him to the vet for an exam.
The tech said since he was walking without noticeable pain it wasn't broken, but I'm not too sure what could have happened.
He was hit pretty hard, it spun him down two other lanes to the other side of the road.
(For future reference, since I paid for the exam the Humane Society picked him up for me. :] )
that really depends it is not the best thing for them but try 2 go to the vet and ask.my dog always runs away he got hit by a car 7 times and he is alright.the only thing is that they will have some type ob scarings and bumps on them so b gentel to yr pet while they heel.
