Gel Foam Seat Why do my palms go numb while I'm riding my mountainbike?
I have a low riser bar but I still have problems with pain in my palms. I have the thickest gel gloves I could find. I have added thick foam grips. My seat is the right height but I feel like I''m leaning forward too much. I don't want to raise the stem up higher, I already have some spacers to raise it up. Help me out please!!!
The travel of your front suspension may have affected your palms-so the front shocks have to be 'gauged' for your next ride. how can I make a more comfortable motorcycle passenger seat?
We just cannot afford several hundred dollars to replace the stock seats on our motorcycle. My husband is fine with the driver's seat but my tushy cannot handle long rides! I am pretty crafty so have considered taking the seat apart and putting something like a gel pad in or memory foam. Has anyone personally done this to your bike? Any other suggestions for what we might do?
Most passenger seats are too narrow since the manufacturer is going for looks to sell the bike, rather than passenger comfort. You may want to check out some classifieds for a used, wider seat.
My missus is also pretty crafty and she installed a raw gel pad in my driver's seat (she also narrowed the foam since drivers seats are often too wide for those of us who are not long limbed). This is the guideline she used.
