Folding Civil War

Do you know what the purpose of adding more troops is really all about?
A show of force isn't gonna make the jihdists law down their arms or get them to the bargaining table. 20,000 more of our troops will only escalate the violence three-fold. By the time our guys even get there the Iranians will send fighters over there in droves to continue the Sunni genocide. Al-Sadr the head Shiite, is loyal to hezbollah and has more popularity and militia forces over there than we have troops. He kills Sunni's and US soldiers without prejudice. Our going over there and showing a presence will allow his Militia (most of them Iraqi police) to wack Sunni's off at will.
More troops, more violence, more of our men and women caught in the middle of the civil war. The only good thing about the whole scenario will be the increased call for W's head making it such a double edged sword for those of us who want him dethroned. Blood is gonna be spilled over there until a winner emerges from this civil war--
Why should we help them kill themselves off?
What is the saying, "don't throw good money after bad""
And we already have been "surging troops" in "operation forward together" a dramatic increase in troops and patrols in Bagdad, and what happend, highest U.S. casualties in years.
I highly support our troops ... in particular, their right to live. And support sending them into danger ONLY when we have to... What can we possibly accompliush over there? Does anyone learn anything from history? Is this all for G.W.'s pride? Does that S.O.B. really have my little brother dodging bullets for his silly little pride?
War supporters should be ashamed. very.

Mr. Burgess' Folding Gun: NRA National Firearms Museum Featured Fun
What's a creative way to display a Civil War project?
My project is about the events leading up to the development of the Arlington National Cemetery. Examples of what I can do are: tri-fold poster board, poster, and PowerPoint presentation. I want to be creative and stand out. Um, yeah, please try to be descriptive.
It all depends on how much time/effort and money you are willing to put into it. At the least, I would obtain a small 13" TV with a DVD or VCR attached and play a video on one or both: Antietam Battle and Arlington's History. You can obtain lots of good video ideas for this on youtube I'm sure. If you have a laptop, perhaps you can just get the video straight from youtube and that would be easiest. If you want to hide the fact that its a laptop, just make a cardboard cut-out for the screen and keyboard so they just focus on the video. Replay it as necessary.
Using pictures on a tri-fold poster of some sort would be nice. Definitely use full sized photo's of the major persons involved. Lee, Lincoln and Gen. Montgomery Meigs who was really responsible for the property to be used as a cemetary. I would then do a background on the reasons it was chosen including Lee's role in the war and Meigs son's death in the war. (He was very upset at the CSA for his son's death and made a personal choice to use Lee's property right up to his front porch so he could never use the house again)
There was a big controversy of the taking of the property illegally and Lee's family won a supreme court case to have it returned. You certainly could include some articles on that in a poster board.
That and some facts and figures about how many are buried, procedures for burial, and lots of pictures would probably be good. I can't think of much else you could do other than make a diarama of the cemetary and Antietam. Good Luck!
Let us know what you decided to do for it!
