Why do some birds hold foot with feet and others don't?
I had a cockatiel. He never held food with his feet in the 14 years he was alive.
I just got an 8 week old Green cheeked conure and she already holds food with her feet - as I know many parrots do.
I had heard that cockatiels are not known for this behavior. Why is it some birds do it and some do not? 'Tiels and greens are about the same size.
I had noticed this too, I also have a tiel and a green cheek. Take a look at their feet, also the way they move when they climb. The green cheek's feet are larger, thicker, and more muscular, leading me to believe that they were created for grasping and using tools, whereas tiel's feet are for hangin' on and walking around. I believe the differences would be due to the environments to which they are indiginous. Just my opinion.

This is more of a physics question, but since I'm in expert in physics here is the answer...
First we need to know some things about work...
Work is measured in Joules which are units of Energy
A Joule is 1 Newton of force which is applied to move an object 1 meter.
1 J = 1 N * m
The Joule is the SI (standard unit) of Energy. Here force is measured in Newtons, and distance is measured in meters.
Usually we convert to SI units before doing these kind of equations... Although your question doesn't mention standard units, so you might want to ask your teacher.
Foot pounds are another non-standard unit of work.
We can directly multiply our givens to produce foot pounds.
Work = Force x Distance
W = 7 lbs. * 0.9 ft
W = 6.3 ft * pounds

We should convert this to Newton * meters or Joules if asked to use standard units. In which case we would look up the conversion from pounds to Newtons, and from feet to meters.
