What kind of motor should I use and how do i control the speed of it? Also where can i find sprockets and chains that fit the shaft and wheel assembilys?
You should look for a DC motor. As far as the sprockets are concerned, I would try looking at Sears or Pep Boys. They might have something that could help you out.

hi people i have an electric scooter with 21 amps and 36 volts the control can stand 36 v and 30amp but i dunno about motor so how do i know?
Assuming your motor is actually drawing a current of 21 amps at 36 volts, then watts is simply volts times amps, or 756 watts in this case. However, those numbers may just be the maximum rating of the components, and the system may never draw than much current.
