Was kicked off jury duty. From body language, the lawyer disliked me as soon as I said I was a Teacher. Why?

I went back to the jury assembly room to get my note that I did my jury service. I asked why people wouldn't want a teacher on the jury. The woman giving the note hesitated and then said "Do you really want to know?" I said "Yes."

She said "Well, I am not saying this.....but I have heard lawyers say....

Teachers are used to having a whole room full of people hate them, so they don't care if they hang a jury and everyone in the room is mad at them...

Teachers are stuck up and think they know it all...

Teachers think they are always right and everyone else is wrong...

Teachers are used to being in charge and will focus on that, instead of trying to decide if a person is guilty or innocent...

Is this TRUE? Do people really think this?

I suspect that the woman you talked to feels that way. I don't think such feelings are common. If you really want to know what some specific lawyer thinks about some specific potential juror in some specific case, you would have to talk with that lawyer at length. In some cases, a lawyer wants an educated jury and in other cases he might want idiots. The case could have had teachers as witnesses, or as victims, or as the defendant. There is no universal answer.
