Dual Folding I need to buy an eco-friendly car...?
I need to buy an eco-friendly car, what are some of the best used models?
I have a 98 Dodge Dakota pickup, V6, stick. It's a damn good truck but it only gets 20mpg. I'll be relocating to Chicago soon and I need something that costs less to run, MUCH less and easier to parallel park. I totally suck at parallel parking.
I would like something that's no more than 3-5yrs old, dual-fuel, preferably gas-electric and low maintenance. Also I'd like a make/model with folding rear seats and a rear door, instead of a trunk for more payload.
I've heard Mini Cooper's are some of the best compact cars for holding their value, being economical and low maintenance. However I'm open to suggestions; Hyundai, Honda, Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Mitsubishi, Toyota…
You want a gas-electric with folding rear seats and a rear door?
No brainer. Toyota Prius or Ford Escape Hybrid. These have those features.
If you don't mind buying new, the 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid is an especially good buy right now because it qualifies for a $3000 Federal Tax Credit. The tax rebate makes the Escape Hybrid the same cost as a similarly-equipped regular Escape.
The Prius and Escape Hybrid have lower maintenance than regular cars-- They use regenerative braking so you don't need a brake job until 100,000 miles (try that in a regular car!), and they don't have alternators, starters or timing belts to wear out.
Frankly, after driving a Power Split Device-equipped vehicle like the Prius or Escape Hybrid, regular cars just seem so primitive.
The RPS Studio RS-4070 Dual Square Folding Softbox Kit is excellent for digital photography. A snap to set-up or close, they have no ribs or adapters...everything is built-in. They include quick folding softboxes, which expand quickly and easily, like an umbrella, plus a built-in socket for use with Fluorescent lamps. The lamp included is a new, cool 70 watt tricolor design, which produces a daylight color and yet puts out the equivalent of 300 watts of incandescent light without the heat or energy use. Also included in the kit is a 6 ft light stand and a carrying bag.

Blue book it, get an authentic picture of the car, get a carfax report on it (for a run down of oil changes), and then decide whether not $9000 is really worth car that is 7 years old with 100k+ miles on it.
Just some ideas for research...
