Economy True or False?

1. One major shortcoming of monopolistic competition in promoting technological progress is its limited ability to secure inexpensive financing for R&D.
2. The technical and scientific characteristics of an industry may be more important than its structure in determining R&D spending and innovation.
3. A fast-second strategy involves letting the dominant firm set the price of the product and then
smaller firms quickly undercutting that price.
4. Imitation poses no problems for innovators because there are patent and trademark protections
for their innovations.
5. Most product innovations consist of major changes to existing products and are not incremental improvements.

5. f

1. F - Correct, I agree.
2. T - I disagree. There are industries where the nature of the industry limits R&D spending and innovation simply because its not feasible to spend it otherwise.
3. T - I agree.
4. T - This question is odd. From a purely policy/economic perspective, the answer is true. However, the reality of the situation is that imitation is a problem because patent and trademark laws aren't all that effective in the real world. Imitation comes about when a company imitates a competitor's product and manages to make modifications to it enough to get a different patent for it.
5. F - I agree.

No Competition! Dr. Shawn Mueller - Why LiveSmart 360? Mist / Zorbmax Product

I want to be the world's richest man?

Ok, i know everyone would like to do this but I really want to be the world's richest man!
Im a 16 year old male and I've became obsessed with achieving this goal. I have an idea which I believe is very good as everyone needs it and there is not much competition. I don't like it when people say "that's impossible" or "that will never happen" because it can! If Donald Trump, Alan sugar and Carlos slim Helu can do it so can I!
so my questions are:

How do I patent my product?
How much does it cost?
What are the stages of products? (e.g.) Design brief, manufacturer, marketing, sales pitch
@ Danie, Carlos Slim Helu is actually the current richest person in the world, maybe you should look it up :S

I'm not going to answer your questions, I'm just going to say, when you grow up, you're going to lose your lust for money, as you'll realize there are many other more important things in life. No one needs a lot of money, and people with it only succeed in wasting it on irrelevant material items.

One Response to “Competition Patent Product”

  • Howard L says:

No, you cannot. Once an invention is registered anywhere, it cannot be patented elsewhere, except by the original inventor on a very strict timeline. If the patent has not been filed in the US, you are free to produce the item in the US, as is anyone else. You cannot produce or market the product in China.

Competing simply on price with a Chinese product seems very unlikely.
