Chair Swing Away
My baby is so hard to get to sleep. Rocking motions don't put her to sleep like other babies. Help?
I can't sit in a chair and rock her becuase she doesn't respond to it. Nor a baby swinging chair. The only time she falls asleep is (and this is hit or miss) is when we put her up on our shoulder. She doesn't like to sit still, we have to walk her around when she is fussy. She falls asleep on the breast but wakes up when moved to her crib, bassinet or just away from me. She never falls asleep just to fall asleep. I have to go through hoops to get her to rest. She isn't just crying, she just doesn't stay asleep or wants to be awake. 7wks old. Why won't she act like other babies when it comes to putting them asleep by rocking...?? or by a swing?
I just consulted a sleep duola about this. She told me that it is too quiet for him and to use a white noise machine to put him to sleep and during all naps / the night. She also suggested swaddling.
I tried the white noise machine while walking with him up on my shoulder. He falls asleep much faster. When he wakes during the night, he is now able to settle and fall asleep until he really needs to get up to eat.
