Chair Power Getting a lift for a van for a power chair?
My grandfather got a power chair which was paid for by Medicare, the only problem now is that he has no way to transport his chair and take it anywhere with him. Therefore, the chair is not really doing him much good. Are there any agencies or foundations that will asist with the cost of having a lift installed on his vehicle so that he can actually use his power chair and be able to be more independant and mobile?
He is not a veteran, he's just disabled. And no, Medicare won't help with any of the cost.

What agencies would help mu buy a power chair?
I am disabled and have a problem getting around in my home. I want to be independent, but it's extrememly difficult.
Go to your local DHS or Medicaid Services and ask them if you qualify. If you are disabled and get a disability check then you are probably on medicare and the company who sells the power chairs will help you get the papers filled out to get what you need. I have known several people who needed one and qualified and got one quickly without any hassle. Good luck to you!
