Case Logic Under

Being able to understand something?
What skill or mental ability does being able to understand something fall under?
To be more specific, does logic require you understand something? So, if one student understands a mathematical concept and the other doesn't, does that mean the first student is more logical because he understands it? However, perhaps the first student may not understand something in geography but the other does.
Is understanding something just a representation of whether you are good at something? In which case, can being able to understand be improved?
Logic and understanding really are two totally different concepts. People are created differently. If we all understood the same mathematical problem the same way, or, we all were able to memorize say, the capitals of the 50 states in America with ease, can you imagine how boringly alike mankind would be? I believe that God created us to be different individual persons, some having skills in some areas that others don't, and so on. I also believe that He did this in part so that we'd all learn to work together and help one another.
I don't think that understanding something is a representation of what you are or are not good at. I think it's just a simple concept of being able to more easily understand something you are interested in. If you aren't interested in it, then you aren't going to want to understand it and learn it, are you?
Understanding something, of course, can always be improved on. I'd call that learning, I think. And logic, I think, is more just plain old common sense than anything else.

Where has all the logic gone?
People on both sides of a religious debate seem to losw the ability to think rationally and logically. Flaws in logic abound on both sides. Using creationism/evolution as an example, state your case and see how well it holds up under true logic.
Creationism is based on astract reasoning formed by a priori ideas.
Evolution is based on concrete reasoning formed from posteriori ideas.
Which sounds more logical to you?
