Calf Rest Pad
Now my heel hurts!!?
At gymnastics I noticed some pain in my calf muscle (kelies (sp) tendon) I toughed it out for two more weeks and then took the month of June off. I decided to quit. But each day it gets worse and worse. There is some swelling and reddness on the bone right abouve my heel pad. It feels like there is a bruise but I never hit it (hard enough) to bruise it. it's like a jabbing pain. Should I go to the doctor. I try to rest it. But I have a problem with just sitting and watching TV. I am very active and would like this to heal fast. My dad yells at me whenever I try to run. He says I need to rest it. Do you have any idea what's wrong with it? And should I go to the doctor?
what are some good at home remidies too?

I'm a litle confused .. .is the pain on teh bottom by the heel .. the back of the heel .. or the top of the foot??
If its one of the first 2 it could be a heel spur. They can be painful and even debiliting at times. A heel spur is baxically extra calcium that attatches to the bone and forms a supr that pokes into parts of your body not ment for it to . .hense the pain. have it looked at by a podiatrist.

Rapid, constant, leg twitching in calf muscle in both legs
Tight and sore calves are killing me?
I went to my massage therapist and she told me that all my muscles are very tight for someone who doesnt play sports, expecially in my calves. Im very inflexible so Im going to start stretching, but it hurts a lot in my calves. Is there anything i can do to jumpstart making my calves feel more like stretching--i know its going to take time and effort to feel better, but i can't seem to get motivated because of the pain.
My friend was a track runner and had this tiny little machine thing that had electric shock pads that could be used to tense and relax your muscles while you rested--to stretch them a bit in between races i think. Also people have been saying to use icy hot patches....anyone have any other suggestions?
It almost sounds like shin splints, which i got a lot during track. If you have steep stairs or walk up stairs often, that may be the reason your legs are hurting.
I've been to a chiropractor before and they have electrical things that are like what your friend seems to have had. Maybe ask your doctor where to get one...
