What is the name of the part on a 1964 GMC pickup?

Hello, I recently bought a 1964 GMC stepside manual. It had the original straight-6 230 stock engine in it. It ran, but very crappy. So, I talked my dad into giving me his 355. We are currently in the middle of swapping the engines. We replaced the clutch disk and pressure plate, and the bearing, but we hit a snag, before we can put the engine in. On the straight six, the clutch pedal -thing- bolted right onto the engine, and it looks like a tuning fork. Well, I've heard from others that I need to get a different -thing- for the V8. Problem is, no one knows what the -thing- is called. Any help?
I do know we need to swap it, because the straight six isn't as wide as the V8; the V8 is about 4 inches wider.

So, does any one know what the -thing- is called? Much appreciation.

You could save yourself a lot of trouble by putting in an automatic transmission. A good place to get parts for older cars like that is jcwhitney.com

Wobbly wheel on rear passanger side ? LEXUS gs300?

Hello, i recently bought a 1993 Lexus gs300, when i bought it, the guy said that it needed new routers and brake pads, and when i drve it had this wird screetching thing, like as if there was a fork dragging on metal, only on the rear passenger side, so i just got it replaced, and when the car was on the jack, and the mechanic was tighting the bolts, we noticed the wheel was wobbling, the brakes worked, but if the grab the wheel and turn every which way, even out towards yourself, it gave just a little. i know this isn't normal, and when i drove the car out, i still heard that wierd screetchig-draging sound, would anyone know if this is an axle problem? or a ball bearing problem? or something else? thanks.
please remember that i'm a girl, not familiar with some terms, please explain..
the mechanic didn't know for sure, he thought he had fixed the problem

sounds like a hub problem to me
