question about traveling on an airline?
im going to be traveling from san antonio,tx to chicago,il.
ive never been on airplane.
i want to know what airline and plane has the widest seats? is it true if u r overweight you have to buy two seats?
i am overweight so that is why im asking.
i was researching online and i saw that there is a controversy over big people having to buy a second seat. i know people have their opinions. but all i want is some info.
also is there a particular airline u prefer over another.
i care more about there being a big enough seat then what airline i travel in.
and what is the weight limit to fit into a seat?seat belt? seat belt extender?
Most people who are overweight up 300Lbs fit in to the little economy seats easily in most carriers.
Carriers I like:
United, American, Jet Blue for Domestic
American, Singapore Airlines, KLM and Lufthansa for International.
If you want a wider seat you can splurge about twice as much and get a First Class Ticket for Domestic Travel.

Changing seats for more comfort, suggestions?
I have a kona blast 2009 and find the stock seat unbearable. Any recommendations? I'm a fairly big wide guy, comfort is key. thanks much for responding!
There is no magic "right" saddle for a bike. Each of us is somewhat different, and what feels comfortable to one person is torture for another. This is because anatomy differs, particularly where the "sit bones" are located. It also matters where the discomfort is worst. For example, do the bones in your pelvis get bruised, or is it more pressure on "sensitive" areas? The solution is different.
The first thing to be sure of is that the saddle is angled correctly. Basically it should be horizontal. It shouldn't point up since this puts pressure on "sensitive" areas, but neither should it point down to the degree that you slide forward.
Assuming adjustment is right, there are two things to consider, a) padded shorts, and b) a replacement saddle.
Even on a good seat well fitting (moderately tight), padded bike shorts are essential for comfort on longer rides (and to me that's anything more than 4-5 km). Wear without underwear to prevent seams irritating you.
There are a wide range of seats available. You don't have to pay a fortune for a reasonable model (high price is mainly for lighter weight). First you need to consider your type of riding. A gel padded seat is a good general choice for the occasional, recreational cyclist (particularly if bike shorts are not "you"). Other than that, firmer seats need to be tried to see if they are comfortable for you. Note there are seats designed for men and for women ... this is one component you want to get right. You can also get seats with a cutout in the nose of the seat. Both men's and women's seats are available this way.
Most good bike stores will allow customers to return seats after a few days of trial if they don't fit right, and exchange them for another model ... so expect to try several. Check with the store firs, and if they won't trade shop elsewhere.
For reasons given above I won't try to recommend a specific model, but in terms of brands, Terry, Fizik, Selle, Brooks are all good choices.
