Bed Wheelchair Transfer
how long should one be off of work after laproscopoic gall bladder surgery?
I work in a group home with developmentally diasabled adults, that need to be transferred from wheelchairs to beds or to shower trolleys.
You may have gallbladder surgery as an outpatient, or you may stay 1 or 2 days in the hospital.
After surgery you may have:
Pain in the right shoulder and upper right abdomen that lasts 24 to 72 hours (from gas used to inflate the abdomen during surgery). It may last as long as a week.
Widespread muscle aches from anesthesia.
Diarrhea.
Minor inflammation or drainage at the surgical wound sites.
Loss of appetite and some nausea.
Most people can return to their normal activities within a week to 10 days. People who have laparoscopic gallbladder surgery are sore for about a week, but within 2 to 3 weeks they have much less discomfort than people who have open surgery. No special diets or other precautions are needed after surgery.

Cannot transfer from wheelchair to bed or toilet. Lives alone.Can she be forced to live in a nursing home?
If you are someone's next of kin, or spouse, than you can have them committed to a facility, if you can prove to the state judiciary that said person has an inherent inability to care for themselves. This can only be done if you are the next of kin, spouse, or sometimes a sibling can do this as well. This is also true of mental conditions as well. But the main factor is being able to prove that if no action is taken, then that person is liable to do harm to themselves or others. Hope this helps.
