Some things I never found in any list that I really wanted: cough drops and lip chap! I had the laughing gas (I went through 2 and a half tanks of it) and by time it was all over, my throat was SO sore. And my lips were also really dry. So those are two things you should definitely think about. Some good snacks are also a good idea, since you won't be able to get up to go to the vending machines or anything, and you will get hungry between hospital meals (which aren't that great, but do the job). At my hospital, they gave me all the juice I wanted though, so you may not have to worry about that part.

A lot of people suggest bringing your own pads as well - I found that the hospital grade size was way more comfortable. Bring lots of undies and socks (mine never got bloody, but you will sweat a LOT - and not just during labour. You will sweat for weeks after you have your baby). A couple hair ties, tooth brush, mouth wash or minty gum for a quick freshen up when you don't feel like getting up to brush your teeth. If you haven't done this already, you might want to also get a list of phone numbers (and quarters for the pay phone or a cellphone). And of course, you will want a camera!!! Make sure your changes of clothes are maternity wear or at least loose clothing. You will not want anything clinging to you! I just stayed in my hospital gown for the two days afterwards, it was way more comfortable.

You also need to bring stuff for your baby! You won't need a lot (I packed WAY too much) but you will definitely need the car seat! You might also want to bring a "going home" outfit. The hospital will supply diapers and everything else until you get home too.

This is kind of unrelated, but something I REALLY wished somebody had told me about after the birth - your baby will spit up a LOT after it is born. It's the amniotic fluid that was leftover inside, and it needs to come out. Don't be caught off guard like my husband and I were! Best of luck!!!!!!

Edit: I forgot to mention one other thing - make sure you have snacks or meals for your boyfriend/hubby/birthing partner! The hospital takes care of you, but not your partner!
