Whats the difference between lead acid, Gel and AGM batteries and which will give the most power?
In fact, they are all lead acid batteries. The difference is in the construction. In general, the Lead Acid battery is made up of plates, lead, and lead oxide (various other elements are used to change density, hardness, porosity, etc.) with a 35% sulfuric acid and 65% water solution. This solution is called electrolyte which causes a chemical reaction that produce electrons.
The Gel Cell and the AGM batteries are specialty batteries that typically cost twice as much as a premium wet cell. However they store very well and do not tend to sulfate or degrade as easily or as easily as wet cell. There is little chance of a hydrogen gas explosion or corrosion when using these batteries; these are the safest lead acid batteries you can use.
Lead acid batteries include the starting battery in your car. They also include deep cycle batteries that have thicker plates than starting batteries. Thinner plates (in the electrolyte) can deliver higher current, necessary for starting loads in a motor vehicle. Thicker plates are better suited to long slow discharges.
AGM: The Absorbed Glass Matt construction allows the electrolyte to be suspended in close proximity with the plates active material. In theory, this enhances both the discharge and recharge efficiency. Actually, the AGM batteries are a variant of Sealed VRLA batteries.
GEL: The gel cell is similar to the AGM style because the electrolyte is suspended, but different because technically the AGM battery is still considered to be a wet cell. The electrolyte in a GEL cell has a silica additive that causes it to set up or stiffen. The recharge voltages on this type of cell are lower than the other styles of lead acid battery.

Can I connect batteries in parallel to charge them with a single charger?
I have a deep cycle marine battery, an AGM motorcycle battery, and two other lead acid (i think) motorcycle batteries that I have removed from my summer toys for the winter and want to connect them all to a trickle charger for storage for the winter. I have one high quality battery charger ~1.5 amps that does all sorts of fancy battery maintenance voltage changes while charging, and another harbor freight battery charger ~.5 amps that I could use for tending these batteries. So my question is, will an arrangement, with each of these batteries in parallel and a low current trickle charger connected for winter storage work? Thanks.
No, definitely not, each one of your batteries has a different amperage rating and requires different charging rate for maximum output. Charge each battery separately.
